The Soho restaurant owned by D&D London 100 Wardour St has announced the appointment of a new executive head chef. Ex-Savoy Grill head chef Kim Woodward, who has worked for the company for the past year — at Skylon restaurant on the Southbank — has been given the task of “giving classic dishes a modern, creative twist,” while cooking for new tastes in the (central) London restaurant market: specifically, catering to “every palate — with gluten-free and vegan options.”
The announcement states that for Woodward, who worked in “a typically male-dominated environment… first broke down gender barriers in her previous role as the first female head chef at the Savoy Grill in its 126-year history, paving the way for future generations of female chefs.”
It adds: “Cheshire-born [Woodward] brings her skills to 100 Wardour following a successful stint at prestigious Southbank venue Skylon. Building a truly impressive CV over her 19-year career, learning the ropes in the U.S. before returning to the U.K. to join the Gordon Ramsay Group.”
Woodward has appeared on a number of U.K. television shows, including MasterChef: The Professionals, BBC’s Great British Menu, Saturday Kitchen, and ITV’s Yes Chef. She was also named one of the most inspirational innovators at the Marie Claire ‘Women At The Top’ Awards.
