Vicky Jones “The One” will be on stage at Soho Theatre, London.  

Soho Theatre in association with DryWrite presents the play “The One,” which has received great reviews and good ratings from the media. “Astounding and astonishing,” says Telegraph. Evening Standard, The Independent, Time Out have given four stars to the play. “Thrillingly written and brilliantly staged… sexy, savage and as lively as a cat on a hot tin roof…,” says Stage. “Sharply drawn… achingly funny… witty, brave and galling writing,” says Time Out. “The dialogue fizzes…spiky and unsettling,” says Evening Standard.  “Astounding and astonishing… hypnotic to watch,” says The Telegraph. “Incredibly, lawlessly funny,” says Exeunt. “Savage, uncomfortably funny,” says The Independent. The play is suitable for people aged 16 and above. It contains scenes of a strong sexual nature. The runtime of the play is 1 hour 15 minutes.

The play is a product of the team behind “Fleabag” and “Touch.” “Following on from last summer’s smash-hit ‘Touch,’ Vicky Jones returns with her award-winning debut play. Harry and Jo are up all night drawing the battle lines of their relationship with sex, violence and Wotsits. A viciously funny and daring play, ‘The One’ invites you into the world of a couple trapped in a destructive and violent cycle of love and lust,” says the Soho Theatre website.

Vicky Jones’ debut won the Verity Bargate Award in 2013. Back at Soho Theatre this summer for a limited run, starring Tuppence Middleton (“War and Peace” and Netflix’s “Sense8”), John Hopkins (“Midsomer Murders and Poldark”), and Julia Sandiford (“The Woman in the Moon” — Sam Wanamaker Playhouse and “Silent Witness”).

The play features Tuppence Middleton as Jo, John Hopkins as Harry and Julia Sandiford as Kerry.

The creative team includes Vicky Jones, Writer; Steve Marmion, Director; Anthony Lamble, Set and Costume Designer; Rob Casey, Lighting Designer; Gareth Fry, Sound Designer; Rob Casey, Associate Sound Designer; Bret Yount, Bret Yount; Sebastian Cannings, Production Manager; Jasmin Hay, Deputy Stage Manager; Chloe Walker, Assistant Stage Manager; Nadine Rennie CDG, Casting Director;  Lakesha Arie-Angelo, Assistant Director; and Sarah Mercade, Costume Supervisor.

There will also be some talk shows and events wherein Vicky Jones and the cast of the play will be in conversation and discussions.

The play will be on stage from July 5 through August 25, 2018, at Soho Theatre, 21 Dean St, Soho, London W1D 3NE, UK
